At Saw Mill Veterinary Care, we understand the concern you feel when your pet is sick and we aim to do our absolute best to take care of your pet in a timely manner, and to work with your schedule. Please express your concerns and describe problems as best as possible so your pet is properly triaged.
What are some common signs of illness?
Dogs and cats have evolved to hide signs of illness and pain. Take note if your pet is showing any of the following signs:
- Not acting like itself
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Lack of appetite
- Decreased activity
- Frequent or less-frequent urination
- Stiffness
- Lameness
- Difficulty getting up
- Coughing
- Hair loss
- Itchy skin
- Shaking head or pawing at ears
- Lethargy/tiredness
- Increased vocalization
If you think your pet is sick, please call us right away and schedule an appointment. If no appointments are available we will do our best to fit you in and have your pet seen as soon as possible. In some cases, we will offer to drop off your pet in order to accommodate your work or lifestyle.
